So this is very primitive but it shows how I want to interpret the song.
“I’m Dreaming of No One But You” has a 16 bar intro that I think should be swinging but on the slow side. Once it hits the main chorus, it slows even more, almost falling off a cliff as the main theme is sung. But then the pace finally picks up and the song becomes more confident.
Then, when the chorus repeats, we have a key change instead of hearing the exact same thing again.
None what you hear will be in the final song, it’s just me playing the melody on guitar over the midi piano. Eventually we’ll have drums, bass, horns, even strings…
